Aim/Scope of Journal

upgraded: Stories & Research on Innovation in Education provides a platform for the exploration, documentation, and dissemination of innovative practices, research, and policies across all of education. The journal seeks to amplify voices that advance understanding of how educational systems can evolve to meet the needs of earners in a rapidly changing world. Rooted in both research and practice, it provides a forum for sharing new ideas, successful models, and reflections that advance learning systems from: 

  • Early Childhood,
  • Elementary, 
  • Secondary,
  • Tertiary, 
  • Community education, and
  • Lifelong learning. 

Open to students, educators, policymakers, and practitioners, especially within Kentucky’s learning communities, the journal seeks to connect evidence-based research with lived educational experience, helping to shape the next generation of educators. 

Contributions may include empirical research, reflective essays, policy briefs, practice reports, and case studies that advance new ways of teaching, leading, and learning. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Educational innovation and reform initiatives
  • Leadership development and professional learning
  • Student-centered and experiential learning
  • Equity and inclusion in education
  • Partnerships between universities and K–12 systems
  • The role of technology and design thinking in education
  • Policy and governance in educational transformation
